Outdooroven recipe: make your own pizza dough and sauce
As you know, the Outdooroven is perfect for baking pizzas. But what will make it even more fun, is making your own pizza dough as well! This recipe by Jeroen van Werven from our Cookbook shows you how to make the perfect pizza dough and tomato sauce!
Ingredients (serves 8 to 10 people):
- 800 gr white bread mix
- 200 gr fine semolina
- 8 gr salt
- 14 gr dried yeast
- 8 gr cane sugar
- 6,5 dl water
We recommend adding the semolina with the white bread mix for extra taste and texture. However, just white bread mix will do as well. Use 1 kg of white bread mix if you leave out the semolina and always make sure to use a high-quality bread mix, like the Italian tip 00-flour
Step 1. Sift the flour onto your kitchen counter and mix together with the salt.
Step 2. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the water. Make sure the water is lukewarm.
Step 3. Create a small hole in the middle of your flour and pour the water in.
Step 4. Mix well and knead for about 10 minutes until you get a smooth and elastic dough.
Step 5. Lightly flour the dough and cover with plastic wrap. Set the dough aside at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.
Step 6. Divide the dough depending on what size pizzas you would like to make. Keep the measurements of your Outdooroven in mind!
Base recipe for tomato sauce
- Canned peeled tomatoes
- Olive oil
Step 1. Place a pan on top of the Outdooroven and pour in some olive oil.
Step 2. Drain the tomatoes and cut into pieces. Add the tomatoes to the olive oil and let it simmer for about 15 minutes. Stir regularly.
Step 3. Blend the sauce and season with pepper and salt to taste.
Step 4. Let the sauce cool down before using it on your pizza.
Step 5. Add the toppings you like to your pizza and bake in the Outdooroven in a few minutes.
