Harmoniously together outdoors
Sometimes, nature gives that ultimate sense of freedom. Weltevree gets that and Maaike, Ton and the kids – by their own admission the biggest Weltevree fans, share in that experience.
“We are completely in our element with the Weltevree outside oven! The whole family enjoys it. It’s an outdoor family happening for us. Together we bake the tastiest home-made pizza’s. One makes the dough, another tends the fire. Ingredients are spread across platters and we bring out blankets, pillows and furs. Is there anything better than being together with food and fire in the outside air? For us, this is real quality time.
The Outdooroven works phenomenally well. Once everyone has finished up, we enjoy the warmth of a gently crackling fire. The Outdooroven is a good looking, sturdy addition to our terrace thanks to its design and the use of Corten® steel. We are fans!
For the dough and tomato sauce we used the Weltevree recipe. With the topping you can vary as much as you want. We’ve put our favourite topping below.”
Greetings, Maaike and Ton.
Pizza dough (8-10 persons)
- 800 grams white bread mix plus 200 grams fine semolina or 1 kg white bread mix
- 8 grams salt
- 14 grams dried yeast
- 8 grams cane sugar
- 6,5 dl water
- Sieve, plastic wrap and a rolling pin
The most important part of a pizza is the dough. Use a good quality white bread mix, like the Italian tipo oo-flour. Delicious to add some semolina for more taste and texture, but a bread mix will do.
Sift the flour on your work surface and mix with salt. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in some water. Make sure the water is lukewarm! Pour the mixture in a little hole in the flour. Mix well and knead for ten minutes until you have a smooth elastic dough. Slightly flour the dough and cover with plastic wrap, then set aside at room temperature for at least 15 minutes. You can now divide the dough, depending on the size of your pizzas. Keep te measurements of your Outdooroven in mind.
Delicious tomato sauce
- Canned peeled tomatoes
- Pepper
- Salt
- Olive oil
- Pan
Place some olive oil in a pan on the Outdooroven and allow to heat. Cut the tomatoes in pieces and drain. Add the tomatoes to the olive oil and simmer fora bout 15 minutes. Stir regularly. Blend the sauce and season with salt and pepper. Let it cool down before using it on a pizza.
