Meet our designer: Erik Stehmann
Erik Stehmann (1984) is an alumni of the School of Arts in Arnhem and discovered his fascination for design through fast-changing daily routines. His continuous search for new possibilities and application based on technique and materials that lead to new products are commonplace for him.

Erik designs the ‘smart’ beach chair for Weltevree. The standard beach chair that everyone knows is astonishingly simple: little materials, easy to move, collapsible and to top it off they’re comfortable. “But the ultimate chill factor is lacking,” Erik thought, “a twist that intensifies the pleasurable experience. The Beach Rockers connects the best of both worlds: the good qualities of a beach chair with the fun characteristics of a rocking chair. Powerful in its simplicity, and very logical if you think about it. Enjoy the ride, he will rock your world!
Making the world a more enjoyable place is where Erik and Weltevree meet. “I see design as playthings for adults, playing is wonderful, and having a lot of toys is amazing.”
About his work Erik says, “the best part of my work is that I can challenge myself, every day! I enjoy plotting and designing, there’s nothing more enjoyable than watching a design grow in the process of creation.” The Beach Rocker is available in two colours. The combination yellow-green symbolizes the rising sun, and the red-blue edition shows the sunset.

The fresh colors of the fabric are created in a collaboration with design studio Raw Color and are inspired by the colors of the horizon: the sunset and sunrise. Erik Stehmann combined the timeless, classic beach chair with the comfort and experience of a rocking chair. The fresh colors of the fabric were created in a collaboration with design studio Raw Color and are inspired by the colors of the horizon: the sunset and sunrise.
