DUTCHTUB WOOD
Four-person wood-fired outdoor pool finished with ash wood Plato panels
The Dutchtub Wood is the brother of the Dutchtub Original. But as brothers often are, they are completely different. Unlike the colored Dutchtub Original, the Dutchtub Wood has a natural look: the tub is covered with wood panels, allowing the tub to completely blend into its surroundings. The Dutchtub Wood is one of Weltevree's iconic wood-fired hot tubs. The outdoor natural-look tub can accommodate up to four adults. The Dutchtub comes with an insulation mat to heat and protect the tub faster outside use. In addition, you will receive a wok, which can be used to cook over the heating coil. Relax in the warm water, enjoy being outside and prepare something delicious in the wok at the same time.
The Dutchtub Wood is finished with wooden Plato panels, which have undergone thermal treatment to ensure durability. The water is heated by natural circulation. This is done by lighting a wood fire in the steel coil attached to the Dutchtub. A side table for the Dutchtub Wood can be ordered on the website.

How long does it take to get the water hot and at what temperature can I heat the Dutchtub?
When following the tips in this blog article you can heat the Dutchtub to 38 degrees in +/- 2 hours. The advice is to fire the Dutchtub to a maximum of 40 degrees. When this temperature is reached, less wood can be placed in the fire basket to only keep the water at temperature. By using a Cover, Chimney and Windshield, the heating will be faster.
Which accessories can I use and what is the use?
Our Wintercover is an extra insulating cover, which ensures a faster heating of the water. The hand-held trailer makes it easy to move the Tub. The Chimney provides a stronger airflow which improves heat distribution. The Ashtray catches the falling ashes. The Windshield protects the fire and speeds up the heating, thus ensuring better combustion. In high winds this makes a big difference, but compared to the Chimney it has a lower efficiency.
There are scratches on the Dutchtub, now what?
For shallow scratches a repair kit is not necessary, then just polishing is enough. This is described in the repair manual. For deeper scratches we have a repair kit that can be requested via info@weltevree.nl.
Can the cover be blown away?
Not in normal weather. In case of a strong storm, it is advisable to weight the cover.
I have lost a part of the Dutchtub, how do I solve this?
On our spare parts page you can order small parts that have been lost. If you really miss a part upon delivery, please contact us at info@weltevree.nl.
How can I maintain my Weltevree products in the best way?
More maintenance tips for our products can be found on our maintenancepage.
ONE WITH NATURE
The Dutchtub Wood has a natural look: in fact, the tub is surrounded by wooden panels, allowing it to completely blend into its surroundings. The wooden panels of the Dutchtub Wood are made of thermally modified ash wood. With ash wood, we have more assurance that no tropical forests are cut down for our products.
THERMALLY MODIFIED
The thermal modification of ash wood changes the cell structure of the wood, making it absorb less moisture. This environmentally friendly process makes the wood resistant to wood rot and fungus. It extends the lifespan as much as 15-25 years or longer. The wood takes on a beautiful dark color and ages naturally.
NATURAL CIRCULATION
The Dutchtube is heated by natural circulation of the water. The water at the bottom of the tub is drawn in through the coil. There it is heated by the fire. After this, the heated water, through the spiral, flows back into the tub. By stirring the water occasionally, the hot water can be evenly distributed in the tub. Depending on conditions, the water reaches 38 degrees after about 2 hours.
"I feel a strong need for direct contact with my surroundings. I want to experience again the pleasure of discovering something myself, the feeling of independence. Products that you have to do something with, that come to life in use. The Dutchtub Wood can be heated with wood. After some effort you can sit down satisfied in the warm comfortable bath and enjoy your surroundings."
