Making the Christmas tree shape

Christmas tree made of puff pastry and knack sausages

  • 2 rolls of 270 gr puff pastry
  • 2 cans of knack sausages
  • Curry
  • Mustard
  • 1 egg

Make a sauce by mixing curry and mustard. See for yourself what ratio you like, the more mustard, the spicier.

Roll out 1 puff pastry roll and cut out a Christmas tree shape. Spread your homemade curry mustard sauce over the puff pastry. Cut the sausages in half lengthwise and cover the Christmas tree shape with the sausages. Be sure to leave a rim next to the knack sausage, so you can seal the "branches" later.

Cover the topped puff pastry Christmas tree with the second roll of puff pastry and cut the same Christmas tree shape from it. Seal the edges and cut strips to form branches.

Brush the tree with a beaten egg, so that the puff pastry will become nicely golden brown and crispy with baking in the Outdooroven.
Adding jam to the puff pastry

  • Dried cranberries or cranberry nut mix
  • 1 egg Cranberry jam (other jam, such as blueberry is also very tasty)

Seal the edges, beat the egg and spread on the puff pastry. Make 1 to 2-inch indentations in the edges, forming strips. Gently twist these strips to create Christmas tree branches. Coat the branches additionally with beaten egg.  Bake the puff pastry Christmas tree in the Outdooroven while melting the white chocolate.
